Thanksgiving Give-away

Annual Thanksgiving Dinner
Give-Away
Our annual Thanksgiving event started as a tribute to Barb's father, Steve Gruda. Steve passed away April 2000. Steve Gruda was always helping people his entire life. He was a very giving person. We decided to feed people at Thanksgiving as a way to honor Barb's father and as an opportunity to help others.  Each year we have increased our number of recipients. In our first year we fed 230 people and after evaluating our options we decided we could feed many more if we cooked the food and took the meals to needy families in their homes. In 2003 we fed 3000. We were able to do this amount by having over one hundred volunteers who donate their money and time to help us.  Our base of recipients are from the Colorado housing authorities clients and other Colorado nonprofit organization. In the past we have been able to feed every person who was recommended to us. Our delivery area is metro Denver.

Share Your Thanksgiving Wealth
2007
For the last six years we have fed Thanksgiving dinner to as many needy families as possible.  The recipients of these meals are all families that request a meal and also the clients of the Jefferson County, Englewood, Littleton, Aurora, Boulder and Adams County Housing Authorities. We also deliver food to the Samaritan house, Annunciation Church and St. Vincent Home for Boys in north Denver. Through the efforts and donations of many friends, we've fed 3000 people. Given that success, we want to do it again this Thanksgiving, only this year our goal is to feed 3,000 again!  In order to do this, we need your help and the help of your friends.

You can help in any number of ways.  We need volunteers to cook, deliver meals, and clean-up. If you want a bigger challenge, we need team captains to organize workers, coordinate getting food, doing deliveries and cleaning-up.

Please commit to whatever suits you the best.  And then pass this letter along to any of your friends and family that would like to share their Thanksgiving wealth with people that are less fortunate this holiday season.

Sincerely,
Joe Eberle
